WELCOME to North State Shasta Odyssey of the Mind!
The North State Shasta Odyssey of the Mind program has been serving the students of Northern California for many years. We are a large region of some of California's most beautiful mountains, lakes, forests, and rivers. Our region incorporates Siskiyou, Modoc, Trinity, Shasta, Lassen, Tehama, Plumas, Glenn, Butte, Sierra, and Colusa Counties. Over the years, North State Shasta kids have presented their dynamic and creative solutions at the regional and state tournaments. Several teams have even gone on to the World Finals!

NEW REGIONAL LEADERSHIP NEEDED ASAP!
As of July 2021 the North State Shasta region of NorCal Odyssey of the Mind will be without a Regional Director. In order for our region to have local (in Redding) events such as the Regional Tournament, Spont Day, and Coach & Judge training workshops, new leadership will need to be found. Interested in more information on the role and duties of the Regional Director can contact Diedre Girod at norcaldirector@norcalodyssey.org.
The 2021-2022 season is happening NOW! This season North State Shasta and Capital Gold Regions have joined forces to make sure that Odyssey of the Mind is available. Thank you Amanda Souza-Reid, the regional director from Capital Gold region, for bringing your leadership to the region for this season. This season feel free to contact Amanda at nssrd1@norcalodyssey.org. She is happy to help.
For the future of the North State Shasta program we will need to have a Regional Director ASAP. The region has an amazing group of board members and just needs one or two people to lead the way. Contact Diedre Girod at norcaldirector@norcalodyssey.org if you are interested.

What is Odyssey of the Mind?
OotM is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program.
