Membership and Registration Fees

 

This is a breakdown of all the necessary membership and registration fees associated with participation in the Odyssey of the Mind program. Please read carefully. If you have any further questions regarding memberships and registration please contact Amanda Reid, Interim Regional Director. 

 

National Membership 

 

In-Person Membership - $135

Before a team can get started, a National Membership must be purchased for their supporting organization (usually a school) and can be done online here using a credit card. Or you may download and print the application to be sent in the mail with a check or purchase order.

Payment confirmation will include an email with your membership number and access to the Member Area of the national site. Also, a membership packet will be sent to your school or organization’s contact that will contain your membership card, full problem descriptions, a program guide, and curriculum material for teachers. One membership covers a team in each of the problems and divisions and primary teams. An organization would only need to purchase an additional membership if there are two or more teams of the same division wishing to compete in the same problem. The additional membership is discounted to $100. If your school or organization has purchased a membership in the past, you will simply renew using the same membership number. The cost is still $135 for renewals.

Virtual Membership - $125

An individual team solving a single problem virtually. The team chooses from the set of Problem 2, Problem 3, or the non-scored Primary problem. Cost includes registration for the team's first virtual tournament, details of which will be announced later this year (2021).

For virtual teams, any team that does not qualify for Divisions I, II, or III will qualify as Division IV. Team members do not need to be students to qualify for Virtual Division IV!

NorCal State Membership 

 

In-person Membership - $80

Virtual Membership - $60

After the national membership has been registered, your school's contact will receive an email regarding the State Membership fees. This fee is per national membership, not per team, and should be paid in December. It can be done online with a credit card here, or you can mail a check to the address below. Be sure to include your membership number with your check if you choose to mail in your state fee. Any questions regarding the state fees should be directed to the state treasurer:

Regional Tournament Registration Fees ($60 per team)

 

All teams wishing to compete at the regional tournament must pay a registration fee of $80 except for Primary teams (K-2), which are only $30. You can register your team by going to the Member Area on the national website. You will need the following to complete your registration:

 

1. Coach(es) name, address, phone and email

 

2. School name, address, and email

 

3. Team Members name, school, and grade

 

4. Membership number, problem, and division

 

Please complete this registration no later than Jan. 15, 2021. A $20 late fee will be added to any registrations made after this deadline. The deadline to pay the registration fee is January 31, 2022.
